DAY 1 - Arrival in Windhoek

Welcome to Namibia! Upon arrival at Windhoek, you’ll be transferred to the car hire depot to collect your 4x4 vehicle. Spend the rest of the day acclimating, stocking up on supplies, and resting before your camping adventure kicks off. Windhoek offers a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a slow start after your travels.

DAY 2 & 3 - Kalahari

On Day 2, embark on your journey to the striking red dunes of the Kalahari Desert. Spend two nights in the Kalahari, setting up your camp amidst the wide-open spaces and striking landscapes. Experience game drives or nature walks to spot springbok, oryx, and meerkats. The Kalahari is also known for its spectacular sunsets, which paint the dunes in vibrant hues.

DAY 4 & 5

From the Kalahari, head south to the Quiver Tree Forest for two nights. This magical place is home to hundreds of quiver trees, some over 300 years old. While here, explore the Giants Playground, a fascinating maze of massive dolerite boulders that look like they were carefully stacked by ancient giants. The starry night skies make this a perfect spot for night-time photography.

DAY 6 & 7

Your next stop is Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the world. Here, you’ll have two nights to explore the dramatic canyon landscapes. Take in the breathtaking views from various viewpoints, enjoy a sunset hike along the canyon rim, or venture into the canyon for a more challenging hike. The area offers plenty of opportunities to appreciate the rugged beauty and serenity of Namibia’s deep south.

DAY 8 & 9

After Fish River Canyon, make your way to Aus, a small desert town surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Namib Desert. Spend two nights in Aus, where you can visit the famous wild horses of the Namib. These resilient animals have adapted to life in this harsh environment and are often seen grazing near the desert plains. During your stay, you’ll also have time to explore the ghost town of Kolmanskop, once a booming diamond mining town now reclaimed by the sands.

DAY 10 - NamibRand Nature

Continue your journey through the Namib Desert with a convenient overnight stop at the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Known for its untouched beauty and golden grass plains, this area provides a perfect rest stop before reaching Sossusvlei. Enjoy a peaceful night under some of the darkest skies on Earth—perfect for stargazing.

DAY 11 & 12 - Sossusvlei

From NamibRand, travel to Sossusvlei, the heart of the Namib Desert. Over the next two days, explore some of Namibia’s most famous landmarks, including the towering red sand dunes of Sossusvlei and the surreal landscapes of Deadvlei. Climb Dune 45 at sunrise, take guided walks into the desert, and marvel at the ancient, petrified trees that dot the landscape. The striking contrast of colors makes Sossusvlei a photographer’s dream.

DAY 13 & 14 - Swakopmund

Next, you’ll head to Swakopmund, a charming coastal town nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert. Spend two nights here, giving you time to enjoy the cool ocean breeze and explore the town’s colonial architecture. On your second day, take a thrilling catamaran cruise from Walvis Bay, where you might spot dolphins, seals, and even whales. Swakopmund also offers a variety of adventurous activities, such as sand-boarding or quad biking on the dunes.

DAY 15 & 16 - Spitzkoppe

From the coast, journey to Spitzkoppe, where you’ll spend two nights camping under the stars. Known as the “Matterhorn of Namibia,” Spitzkoppe is a dramatic granite peak surrounded by flat desert plains. This area is famous for its incredible rock formations, ancient San rock art, and stunning photography opportunities. Explore the towering boulders and caves by day, and capture breathtaking images of the night sky by evening.

DAY 17 & 18 - Etosha National Park

Your final adventure takes you to Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Spend two nights camping within the park, allowing you to explore its vast landscapes and waterholes teeming with wildlife. Enjoy game drives where you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, and an abundance of antelope species. The park’s salt pan creates a striking backdrop for wildlife photography, and the diversity of animals ensures that each game drive is unique.

DAY 19 - Return to Windhoek

Your camping adventure wraps up as you return to Windhoek. Hand back the vehicle at the car hire depot by 16:00. After the vehicle check-in, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey, bringing your unforgettable Namibian experience to a close.
