DAY 1 - Windhoek

Your Namibian journey kicks off at the vibrant heart of the nation, Hosea Kutako International Airport. Stepping off the plane, our welcoming shuttle driver awaits, ready to usher you into the enchanting world of Windhoek.
Rest up after your journey and get pumped for your five-day hike in Damaraland, where breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife await your discovery.

DAY 2 - Twyfelfontein

As you journey from Windhoek to Camp Twyfelfontein, expect to traverse captivating landscapes that showcase Namibia's diverse beauty. Scenic highways weave through rolling hills and valleys, offering views of vast savannahs dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, dramatic geological formations, including the impressive Brandberg Mountain, provide stunning backdrops. You may spot wildlife like springbok and gemsbok, and glimpse local life in small towns featuring traditional Namibian architecture and crafts. Upon arrival, you'll be near the Twyfelfontein rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that reveals the ancient connection of the San people to this land. As the sun sets, the golden hues casting shadows on the rock formations create an unforgettable backdrop, setting the stage for the remarkable experiences awaiting you at Camp Twyfelfontein.

DAY - 3 Camp Twyfelfontein

You have the day at leisure, relaxing by the pool and acclimatizing for the upcoming hike. Alternatively, you may choose to head out on guided game drives to explore the stunning surroundings and spot local wildlife. Additional activities include scenic nature walks, cultural visits to nearby rock engravings.

The Hiking Expedition Team will welcome everyone at 5:30 PM, taking over from here as your guides for the hiking portion of the trip. The adventure kicks off with introductions followed by a briefing at 6:00 PM. Afterwards, indulge in a delicious braai (BBQ). Camping and dinner are included, and as you gather around the fire, you'll have the chance to bond with fellow adventurers as you prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

DAY - 4 Burnt Mountain to Doros Crater

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll drive to the starting point at Burnt Mountain, ready for a 16 km hike along rocky trails toward the stunning Doros Crater. This medium-difficulty trek gives you the chance to spot black rhinos in their natural habitat. Breakfast will be enjoyed on the go, with the aim of reaching your mobile camp by lunchtime. A dedicated 2-man backup team will handle all camp chores and prepare nutritious meals. To escape the afternoon heat, you’ll relax under a 10m x 6m shade net. I’ll join you during breakfast, sharing insights about the local fauna and flora, and afterward, you'll have some time for personal reflection, while I stay nearby for support.

DAY 5 - Doros Crater to Goantagab River

Today, you’ll leave the stunning Doros Crater behind and trek 18 km south toward the Goantagab River, traversing rocky terrain with the possibility of spotting black rhinos. The pace will be comfortable, giving you plenty of time to soak in the tranquillity of nature. This wilderness is home to free-roaming lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and cheetahs, so keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the way. At Euphorbia Camp, you’ll set up for the night under a star-filled sky, free from light pollution, and enjoy a breathtaking sunset illuminating the majestic Brandberg.

DAY 6 - Cheetah Camp and Brandberg Views

Prepare yourself for a 15 km downhill hike to Cheetah Camp, where you’ll head straight toward the magnificent Brandberg. This leg marks the halfway point of your journey, sure to lift your spirits as you navigate sandy paths across the Namibian Meseta. The afternoon will be yours to enjoy at a leisurely pace—whether you prefer reading, meditating, playing chess, or simply relaxing in the shade, the time is yours to unwind.

DAY 7 - The Final Stretch to Brandberg White Lady Lodge

Your final hiking day promises to be the most spectacular. You’ll descend from the mini-escarpment toward your breakfast spot, crossing gravel plains. After enjoying a well-deserved breakfast, you'll explore granite boulders before making your way to the Ugab River for the last 5 km of the trek. Your journey culminates at the Brandberg White Lady Lodge, where you'll celebrate your accomplishments and reflect on the adventure.

DAY 8 - White Lady Lodge to Swakopmund

As the adventure comes to a close, it is time to bid your Hiking Expedition Team farewell. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, allowing time to reflect on the unforgettable journey through Namibia's rugged landscapes. Our meals are simple, nutritious, and delicious, tailored to meet all dietary needs. After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey to Swakopmund, where you will spend two days unwinding and rejuvenating after the challenging five-day hike in Damaraland. Take time to relax by the stunning coastline, explore the charming town, or dive into thrilling activities. After this well-deserved restorative break, it will be time to head home, carrying with you cherished memories of this remarkable adventure.

DAY 9 - Swakopmund

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at a local café, then take a scenic stroll along the beachfront promenade, enjoying ocean views and watching seals basking in the sun. Visit the Swakopmund Jetty for photo opportunities, and explore the Swakopmund Museum to learn about the region's history and culture.
For lunch, savour local seafood at one of the town's many restaurants. In the afternoon, choose from exciting activities like quad biking in the dunes or a scenic boat cruise to spot dolphins and marine life.

DAY 10 - Return to Windhoek

Today, you will drive back to Windhoek and return the rental vehicle to the depot no later than 16:00. After vehicle check-in, guests will be transferred to the airport, ensuring a smooth conclusion to your Damaraland hiking adventure.

The daily hikes vary in length, but each is designed to be manageable, with breaks for rest and opportunities to enjoy the scenery along the way. In total this hike is around 60 km in distance which works out to around 15 kilometers per day.

Travel Requirements for Adults with Children Under 18

Adults travelling with children under 18 must provide the child’s original Birth Certificate and a consent form if only one parent is accompanying the child. Failure to present these documents may result in denied entry.

If your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you’re visiting, you will need to apply for a visa before your departure. Additionally, some countries may require an invitation letter for the Namibian Embassy to process a tourist visa.
