Day by day

Departure/Return Location:
Hosea Kutako International Airport
  • DAY 1 - Arrival in Windhoek
    Meet and greet your guide at Hosea Kutako International Airport. You are then taken to the capital of Windhoek where you’ll have a chance to check in at your accommodation, freshen up and head out for a day tour around the city.
  • DAY 2 - Kalahari
    Today we leave Windhoek and drive south towards the towns of Rehoboth and Kalkrand. With the Mountain escarpment behind us, we make our way to the Kalahari and should reach the Lodge around noon. The afternoon game drive offers picturesque red Kalahari dunes with Springbok, Oryx, Ostrich and Steenbok. A sundowner on one of the Dunes concludes an eventful day.
  • DAY 3 - Fish River Canyon
    We leave the Kalahari and drive through barren grasslands to the Quiver trees. The unique Dollorite formations also called wool sacks near Keetmanshoop are well worth visiting. We continue towards the canyon and should reach our lodge in the afternoon. Most establishments are located on the edge of the canyon and boasts with a magnificent panoramic views.
  • DAY 4 - Fish River Canyon
    Day two at Fish River Canyon, we have breakfast then leave in an open Jeep past the outposts of the former sheep farm. Steep cliffs and bizarre rock formations is where the shy Klipspringer lives. Barren bushes dot the way down to the banks of the Fish River. We later enjoy a picnic on the edge of stone pools where you get a chance to swim. On our way back to the Lodge we keep a keen lookout for Kudu and Mountain Zebra.
  • DAY 5 - Aus
    After an early breakfast we depart for the small town of Aus. Home to the Namib feril horses. We spend the day out on a nature drive. In the late afternoon we drive back to the lodge.
  • DAY 6 - Aus
    On day two we visit the abandoned town of Kollmanskuppe. Where Charles Lewala found a Diamond in 1908, which led to the Diamond rush in Deutsch Südwest Afrika. On arrival, you will join a guided tour of the Ghost town. The tour will also take you past the old general dealer, butchery and bowling alley. It’s difficult to imagine that there was an ice factory located in this part, of the hot and dry desert so many years ago. After a sight-seeing trip to Lüderitz, we head out to Diaz Point.
  • DAY 7 - Sesriem
    Today we leave Aus and head to Sesriem. The road follows the majestic Tiras Mountains. To the west, you have the great Namib sea of sand. Oryx, Springbok and Ostrich dot the surrounding plains. From Betta, we head towards Duwisib Castle. Once the dwelling of Baron Hansheinrich von Wolf. Built-in 1908/1909 for him and his wife Jayta. From Duwisib we travel via the Tsaris pass towards Sesriem.
  • DAY 8 - Sossusvlei
    On day two we get up early and head for Sossusvlei. In the heart of the Dunes, we experience the colours changing over the Namib Desert. You will have the opportunity to scale one of the higher dunes for a panoramic view of the dunes and the Dead Vlei. After a late breakfast, we drive back to Sesriem. We then hike into the 9m wide, 30m deep Sesriem Canyon, which has eroded into a Limestone conglomerate over a period of 3 million years. Later we return to our Lodge, for the rest of the afternoon.
  • DAY 9 - Swakopmund
    We make our way to the small coastal town of Swakopmund. En-route we will stopover at the small trading post called Solitaire. This is home to the famous “Solitaire Apple Pie”. This is the perfect time for a bathroom break and to stretch your legs.
  • DAY 10 - Swakopmund
    On day two at Swakopmund you can take part in various activities. You can join a boat cruise on the Walvis Bay lagoon or head out for a Living Desert Tour. For the adrenaline junkies – We can organise quad bike and dune boarding excursions. Enjoy pre-booked scenic flights over the Namib Desert, Sossusvlei or Skeleton Coast. You have the afternoon off to enjoy at leisure, with dinner in the evening.
  • DAY 11 - Return to Windhoek
    We drive towards Windhoek, via the Us pass and Khomas Hochland. This area is fondly known in Namibia as our “Switzerland”, due to the picturesque mountain landscape. Especially so during the rainy season when wildflowers bloom and the farm dams are full of water. You then will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
