Day by Day

DAY 1 - Arrival in Windhoek

You have arrived at Hosea Kutako International Airport for your Namibian Self-Drive Adventure. Your transfer shuttle will be waiting for you. Should time permit we can arrange for a Windhoek City and Township Tour. Alternatively you can spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing by the hotel pool and recovering from your flight.

DAY 2 - Sossusvlei

Enjoy a scenic drive from Windhoek to Sesriem. This route will offer plenty of photographic opportunities to make sure you have your camera batteries charged. You will be spending two nights in the Namib Desert, so there will be plenty of time to explore the surrounding area by your-self or with pre-booked guided excursions. Watch the sun set over the oldest desert in the world and witness the amazing colour changes over the towering dunes.

DAY 3 - Sossusvlei

This area offers a great variety of campsites and lodges. There are also plenty of interesting excursions and activities available.

DAY 4 - Swakopmund

Today you will head to the small sleepy town of Swakopmund. Rich in German architecture and history, this town offers a range of activities and excursions.

DAY 5 - Swakopmund

From romantic catamaran dolphin cruises to adrenaline-filled dune boarding and quad biking, there is something to do for everyone. Try Tandem Sky Diving or join a full day exploring the Sandwich Harbour and surrounding areas. Visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony or explore Swakopmund on foot. We also recommend visiting the Karakul Weavers, with plenty of souvenir shops to choose from too.

DAY 6 - Southern Damaraland

You will make your way to Southern Damaraland. This area offers some spectacular scenery and wildlife.

DAY 7 - Northern Damaraland

Boasting with stunning landscapes and wildlife, you can explore the Grootberg Plateau, with most of the lodges in the area offering guided excursion and activities.

DAY 8 - Etosha National Park

You will head north towards Etosha National Park, home to four out of the big five (Elephant, Rhino, Leopard & Lion). The park itself is well laid out so it will be pretty easy to navigate. There are many different waterholes where you can stop at for some excellent game viewing and photographic opportunities.

DAY 9 - Etosha National Park

Spend the day game-driving inside the park with the scheduled game drives offered from the lodge. Stopover at the different watering holes and observe the sometimes-large number of different animals quenching their thirst. If you are lucky, you get to see and snap a photo of the endangered white or black rhinoceros.

DAY 10 - Etosha National Park

Watch herds of springbok antelope, along with zebras, wild dogs, giraffes, elephants and lions, to name just a few. There are hundreds of different species of animals, not to mention birds and insects, that roam this part of Namibia.

DAY 11 - Etosha National Park

Etosha is home to four of the BIG 5 species. The buffalo is the only mammal not found in the park.

DAY 12 - Grootfontein Region

Today you will leave Etosha National Park heading north-east towards the Caprivi Strip.

DAY 13 - Grootfontein Region

A great area for a stop-over en-route from Etosha National Park.

DAY 14 - Western Caprivi Strip

Make your way to the Kavango Region after breakfast.

DAY 15 - Western Caprivi Strip

From here you can explore Popa Falls and the Bwabwata National Park.

This area makes for amazing bird watching as there are more than 300 different bird species that live here.
