Namib-Naukluft Park

Namib-Naukluft Park is a sprawling national park located in western Namibia. Covering an impressive area of over 49,768 square kilometers (19,216 square miles), it is one of Africa’s largest game parks and among the world’s largest national parks. This vast expanse of land showcases a diverse range of landscapes, including expansive desert plains, towering sand dunes, rugged mountain ranges, and ancient riverbeds.

The park’s most famous feature is undoubtedly the Namib Desert, considered one of the oldest and driest deserts on the planet. Within the Namib-Naukluft Park lies the iconic Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red sand dunes, some of which reach heights of over 300 meters (984 feet).
